Just a simple idea. People should be required to say whether the shot is from FSX, 9 or anything else. It's dissapointing when you see an aircraft you like, go to download it see it's from a different sim, then have some major compatibility issues.

Fair enough, but the edited arena not withstanding, isn't it usually pretty obvious what the sim is?

Besides that, it would be ...interesting... to see the feeble attempts at enforcement of this regulation.  Wink

If I had a thumbs up option, I'd be choosing it right about now.

Every time I look at screenshot, I never know what version it's from, unless it's specifically stated... and it usually isn't.

..as I mentioned before...

I always include the details of the Sim I am using with the Screen Shot... Smiley....

...which means we gan give a big thumbs-up to a Poster who uploads an FS '98/FS2000/FS2002 Screen Shot with the quality of the latest Sims... Smiley...!

That's what I call "Expertise" ..... Smiley...!

Paul....FS 2004...FS Nav.... Cool...!

(...I also post my screen shots at 900 Pixels wide, to avoid having to sideways scroll the window to view the whole Thread... Wink...!).

You mean this one? Smiley

I agree entirely with Thud's suggestion. I would also like to see it made clear exactly why shots are posted in the Payware Screenshots forum. I'm sure it gives a lot of people the wrong impression when shots featuring brilliant Freeware aircraft have to be posted there because of some obscure Payware in the background that a casual observer probably wouldn't notice.

Yes! The very reason I don't post shots. All I have is GEX and I would be overwhelmed by poeple who are posting in payware with REX, UTX, payware scenery, aircraft, and ect.
And I am locked out of freeware because GEX can't be disabled, I'm no good at editing. So it's read only for me. Smiley

For instance, the current April screenshot contest.  "In order to keep the playing field level, everything must be freeware".  But who in his right mind is going to compromise his/her current setup to meet this requirement?

I agree, people need to post which sim the screenshot is from, although I can usually tell.  Grin
