Do we have the chequered tail version that was in the film?

No, no one has done that exact skin, but there are two checkered tail skins available....among about a dozen alternatives that have been done for this bird.  But I know a guy who might be talked into doing that particular layout.

These were done for an older version of the one about to be posted, but they will still fit nicely.  All I believe were done by Bob McGee (BUB) and Larry Brown (Oldwheat).

I have old A Model skins somewhere for Eaglestons Sabre.  I'll have to look around and see if I still have them.  Otherwise, they would have to be redone in the larger format we used for these Sabres.
Post a picture of the A Model you want and I'll take a look.  No promises on if or when I can get to it.  I'll see what I can do about Eaglestons for now.  In the meantime, you may be able to find the 512 x 512 verson on SOH when they ever get back and running.

   Yours & my 'A' skins are posted on TR's site above.  I assume that you are merely resizing the new skins to 1024 (It will make for a larger filesize, TR  Wink ) or are there other mapping differences ?  If not,the old 512 textures should work just fine on the new .mdl.   
    Looking more closely at the F86 in flight it isn't all that obvious that the whole elevator unit is moving, merely paint on a hinge line.  On the other hand it looks as if the elevator unit may be in two separate pieces in the source file  Roll Eyes.


There has been remapping of the cockpit and windscreen frames to accommodate one of Bub's experiments, and that would require that an added BMP be inserted into the texture folder when using the older textures.   Yes, you can just convert them to 1024 from 512, but the big difference in clarity of the textures is not that.  ( It is in saving the textures without MIPS, contrary to popular belief. )
I'll look into posting the added BMP, or including it in a download of the old skins.  OR perhaps, I should return the mapping on the new model to the original config...film at 11, as there are other considerations.  This new model is considerably different from the previous ones.

No, the horizontal stab/elevator is a single piece, and it moves as one piece.   However, it is constructed in such a manner that it can easily be split into the separate parts...in the event that I get an attack of nostalgia and have an irresistible urge to do an A model.....as the result of motivational harassment by certain beloved individuals.

Don't assume Larry, we know what that does.   I would do a complete revamp like I did on the E's and F's.  If TR does an A Model, I'll give it some new clothes.  As I said, no guarantee's when.  I have some things to finish up for TR then I'll look into it.  I'll redo Eagleston's unless someone comes up with something better.

  My earlier statement is not correct.   The older textures you guys did in 512x512 (and 1024) will work on the new plane as long as you have the Canopy2.BMP in the texture folder....either the dark or light version as appropriate.  I had forgotten that the model you did them for had been mapped for the Canopy2.BMP.  There are some mapping differences in the new MDL, but none that need you to change the BMPs.

The new textures however are much, much more than just a resize to 1024x1024, as you will see when you try them out.

Hopefully, when I get caught up there will be a couple of new A Model skins in the mix.

    I just occurred to me that all of this is part of a craftily orchestrated plot by TR & his cohorts to crowd out my new oscar skin!!!  (Perhaps I should upload another one to keep up the momentum  )..
