OK, I know that I've produced more versions of the A-20 than anyone cares to see, but I've just succeeded in stopping myself....it's like an addiction....just one more.  Embarrassed

But I will be posting the last three versions still in the hangar....they're awaiting finished skins as of now.  They are the A-20B, the P-70B-2 and the A-20K/Boston V.  Smiley
The B was used by the USAAF and the Russians, and had MGs installed in the engine nacelles.  The 70B-2 is the nightfighter version of the G.  The K, AKA Boston V was the last version produced with the almost all-glass nose.  Cheesy

For what it's worth, I just watched the A-20 story on the Military Channel just yesterday am - so it's a current story this week although a repeat.

Oh, no!  That's going to setoff another round of ideas for esoteric and one-of-a-kind A-20 types....not to mention fueling my addiction anew!  Cheesy

This is going to be worse than the B-25 epidemic of '09.   Is there a vaccine available yet?  Grin

Let's see....we change the glass nose on the A-20B from staircase to full-diagonal, remove the rear nacelle MGs and we'd have a Boston III.....not withstanding a few outraged emails from the rivet-counter contingent.  Grin

My addiction is persisting....I may have to go back to rehab!  Smiley

Several folks have been kind enough to send me books and/or other pubs and photos of the A-20 for research purposes....for which I am very appreciative.  Smiley

There were slightly under 7.500 Douglas A-20s produced.  Cheesy

There were some 22 models, and dozens of sub-types/field-mod variations produced.   Smiley

On top of this, the aircraft was flown by at least 5 Allied countries during the war...all of which insisted on calling the aircraft by a different name...the Brits had to have two or three.  Heck, the Japanese even flew a couple.  She was known as A-20A-K plus numerical sub-types of each letter (like B1 and B2), Havoc I & II, DB-7A & B, P-70A & B, Boston I, III, IV, V, and probably a few I've missed.   As a result, there is a lot of confusion about the various models, and frankly some contradictory and inaccurate info about the aircraft in print and on the web.  Undecided

For example, instead of saying that all B models had a certain feature, it would be more accurate to say that most B models had that feature.   This is because there were sub-types within each manufacturing run that varied considerably.  The Russians had B models with stair-stepped nose glass, diagonal nose glass, with and without nacelle guns, with and without turrets, with US turrets and with Russian turrets.  It goes on and on.  Wink

The A-20 not only was the most prolific attack bomber of WWII, but certainly the most confusing to understand.  And an almost impossible subject to master completely.  Smiley

And ... you haven't touched on the "one-offs" (and you should NOT!)

Excellent post, Tom ... and I certainly can't fault your position.  If you've covered the major alphabet series ... that's more than good enough.  Otherwise ... you'll NEVER be finished with them! Lips Sealed

BTW....in the TR_P-70B2 download, I neglected to delete some unnecessary files before posting.   Embarrassed   So to save some space on your hard-drive, you might want to open the Model folder of this plane (after installation) and delete the files ending in m00, m01 and m02.  These are old backup versions of the MDL file which are totally unnecessary and take up considerable space.  Roll Eyes
