Whenever I'm in multiplayer, almost everyones voice is really messed up and sound like an alien.
Is there something wrong with my sound card, or are Martians hacking GameSpy?

what are you using for voice communications?? TeamSpeak?
if you are, there is an Audio Codec for each "channel" / room that might not be set properly, therefore you are going to hear distorted/alien voices.
