Hi, I downloaded "RAF B-25J Mitchell MkII Package" that has a self installer. I have been unable to install it. After I install it I get the message" successfully installed". But its not there Sad.
I am running Win7. Has anyone else had this problem and if so how can I install it?

By "its not there", do you mean its not it the aircraft folder, or you can't find in the Aircraft Section menu?

I just downloaded the package and installed it on my FSX - XP system - displays properly for me. I found it under North American as the manufacturer.

I suspect this is a Win7 "permissions" issue.  Are you running everything as "Adminstrator" and have you granted Full rights to FSX and all it's subfolders?

BTW - This is one "sweet" aircraft!!

By "its not there" I mean its not in the aircraft folder.
Yes I am running as administrator. I even downloaded it from 2 different sites to make sure I had a good "download".
And according to the instructions I installed it into the MAIN FSX folder NOT into "sim objects" is that correct?

Thanks for your replies.

in the future, i would create a new folder inside FS(version) to install all "SELF INSTALLERS" in to.  then all you have to do is physically go in and move the AIRCRAFT folder to SIM OBJECTS/Aircraft, effects to effects, gauges to gauges, etc etc.

this way you know that it is installed correctly and not have to say "where the hell did this thing get installed to, and why is it not showing up??"

FYI - I did that first just to check it out. The authors of this particular package insist that this approach will not work properly and that you must use their installer directed to your FSX installation.  After checking out the "dummy" install I allowed it to auto-install to my FSX setup and all worked properly except for the "auto-trust" bat file for the unusual gauges.  This is one aircraft where you must read rghe instructions - works very well indeed.
