I've been playing FSX and all of a sudden it'll freeze, and then the little circley waiting thing comes (next to the mouse (Vista)), and then THe screen will go back and windows says a fatal error occured, then another window comes up and says that FSX is restarting. This has been happening more and more.
Could it be a plane I downloaded?
If so I have
The Concorde Package (ConcX)
UKMIL C-17
Space Shuttle Atlantis
JBK Boeing 307 Stratocruiser
SAS P-51D WWII museum
Dino's F-14
AFI Textures (B747)
POSKY 777 United Air
I sure as heck hope I don't have to install FSX AGAIN
Undecided

I kept having this problem and the solution was to download a new UIAutomationCore.dll file that I found on another forum with people having this issue. All I had to do was download and then extract into the main FSX folder.
Try reading this http://www.bostonvirtualatc.com/phpbb3_forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=109 hope I'm aloud to paste that link, sorry if I'm not.

Make sure you have the latest DirectX UPDATE installed.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a...

Make sure you have the C++ library update installed.

http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/KB961894/Release/ProjectReleases.aspx?ReleaseId=2...

You want to download and install:

ENU (vcredist_x86.exe) NOTE: Or the one which is right for your OS language   ENU= ENGLISH
The C++ Library update is needed for some 3rd party support and is installed with Acceleration. The link above is to the LATEST update which did not ship with Accel and fixes issues with the past library update patch

I suggest you install the update regardless of what version of FSX you run to be sure you are covered as you may add items to your sim over time.
