Good afternoon all... Smiley

Had a friend over who looked at my FSX and I showed him my flight from Ketchican to Juneau Alaska using MoCats Snow Dog Tours. Lots of seaplane bases to drop into.

He fell in love with the scenery and now would like to install MoCats Snow Dog Tours on his FS2004 but we are not sure it will work.  He does not have FSX.

If MoCats Snow Dog Tours will not work in FS2004 is there another freeware package available with lots of seaplane bases?  I just went through 140 +- pages of the FS2004 Scenery downloads and didn't see anything.
Perhaps I missed something.

A "Link" or information would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.   Smiley

Sounds like your friend needs Holger Sandman's 'Glacier bay'

I suggest a visit to flightsim.com's library and conduct a search for "Glacier Bay".

Among the 20 or so returns is Glacier Bay V2 by the team led by Holger Sandmann.

This is a must have for FS9, make sure to get V2, it is in 2 parts.

The file names are - glbayv2a.zip and glbayv2b.zip

Includes 16 floatplane bases.

Also seen in those search results is  Pete & Sid's Viva Scenery which consists of 4 parts and I believe will contain floatplane bases covering Vancouver Island in British Columbia.

Also do a search for "Wensley". Roger has released dozens of sceneries for Canada, many contain floatplane bases. Most of his work is based on Ultimate Terrain and may not work without it.

Another search for "Freeborn" will return the works of Bill Freeborn. Many include floatplane bases and though some are for FS2002 I suspect they will work with a default (sans Ultimate Terrain) FS9.

While Opa's tip is good, unfortunately all you will get is a list of seaplane bases included in FS9,  none of which have any scenery to depict an actual floatplane base.

Hope this helps,
Joe

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

Look also for Holger's FS9 'Tongass Fjords' - down around the PAKT area.

Not seaplane bases I know, but if your friend goes for the Tongass Fjords package (It is excellent!), then get him to have a look at the Stikine Ice Fields Research add on here: http://edtruthan.com/sirp/sirpmanual.htm

It really is an excellent addition with snow covered landing strips, snow blowing across the tundra & a whole host of 'camps' to visit - all with NDB's, no GPS rubbish here.  Smiley
