Hi all. I'm trying to edit an airport which has unrealistic taxi routes given by ATC; i.e, when at gate, ATC will order to taxi via the opposite runway (backtracking) instead of taxing on the taxi way. So I open up the airport in ADE (it's an add-on airport, so I'm importing the bgl and then re-compiling, if that makes a difference).

First thing I tried was "closing" the taxipath on the runway itself. That didn't work, so then I deleted the taxipath (there is nothing on the runway now in ADE). But still, ATC persists it makes more sense to taxi on the opposite runway and messing the traffic flow at the airport rather than simply taxing on the taxi way  Lips Sealed.

Sorry if the post didn't make sense and I'd be glad to post screenshots from ADE if that would be necessery.

I use a different airport editor, but.....

If you haven't done so...run the ADE  'fault finder' (in the Tools menu). You may find unconnected  links or nodes or missing elements like hold short nodes. Also make sure that the taxi links on the runway are the 'runway taxi link' type.

Could you post a download link for the airport?

If I was having this problem I would pose my question on the ADE 9X support forum.

Surely those who created the program will be able to help you.

Just another thought --

It has been awhile since I used ADE to do what you have outlined - but if memory serves, when you save the edited file, it appends the letters ADE to the filename.

Is it then possible that you now have the original afcad and the revised one both installed?

You might do a little searching and see if that is the case and if so, disable the original one by changing the extension to something like bgl.Orig

Perhaps the sim is still seeing the original afcad and using it instead of the one created by ADE.

Might be worth investigating.   Smiley
