Are you referring to a specific plane that is supposed to have a tailhook?

The tailhook command is used to control an animation built into the model.

If the animation is not there, simply adding the tailhook section to the aircraft.cfg won't do anything.

Joe

actually that is not entirely true.  My default 747-400 has a tailhook.

put this section AFTER the lights section:::

[TailHook]
tailhook_length=7     //feet longitudinal,lateral,vertical positions -> datum
tailhook_position=-21.0, 0.0, -0.81,
cable_force_adjust=1.4

you may have to adjust the position or length depending on what craft you are trying to add it to.... but it can be done.

dont believe me, look at my friends video:: http://www.simtube.com/video/2637/747-Cat-N-Trap

his name is RD from Surclaro.

And I can't even get an F-14 trapped. I can't get the wire to work.  Angry Sad Grin

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

What I should have said was
Quote:
If the animation is not there, simply adding the tailhook section to the aircraft.cfg won't
create an animated tailhook

I stand corrected.

what carrier are you trying to land on?

try downloading / installing the Waikato Carrier (off the coast of New Zealand) ...
http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery6.htm ; --- 3rd file down.

also, you may need RCBCO-20 to get the cat/trap to work properly, as well as ArrCab26. http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/perlfect/search/search.pl?p=1&lang=en&include=...
