Finally got a Stearman that I like the paint on, even if I did have to paint it myself.

Thanks for looking.

That looks good. I like the yin/yang thing you've got going on on the wheels.

Thanks guys, but I can't take credit. It is simply a palette shift with a slight modification. I simply changed the red to blue, ying yang included, and then changed the wing and horizontal stab bottoms to white. And added the name of course. I like red, but I like blue better and have wanted this for a while. I actually started about three months ago, but could not get it to show up. Sad
And I checked the aircraft.cfg two or three times. But I missed one little entry that I finally found the other day. It really pays to recheck the .cfg more.  Grin

Well, nevertheless you did a great job with that repaint.
I was about to say that this was surely your greatest repaint yet, but then I read your last answer  Cheesy

However, I think you should take into consideration the original work made by the author, to apply the same techniques to your repaints.

I have seen your other recent repaints in your other topics (Maule), and I have to say that everytime, there is a little cartoonish effect that could be avoided by choosing the colors more carefully. What do you think ?

In the case of the Maule, you are correct. It just depends on the aircraft and theme. Sometimes I want a little cartoonish effect, other times not. I still have a lot to learn about repainting though. And there are limits to my abilities. But it is fun.  Smiley

Well your limits are already much higher than mines.
I tried once to make a repaint, and the result was so catastrophic that I didn't even dare to try it on the aicraft in the sim  Tongue
So yes, I know what you are talking about Smiley

Thanks Daube. But you should not give up so quickly. My first few were pretty bad and I still get a bad now and then. A lot of it depends on the texture setup the designer used. Some are really easy, while others are a painter's nightmare. Those are the ones that make we want to strangle the designer. (Can I get an amen Roy?)  Grin
Anyway, keep working at it. You will improve with practice.  Smiley
