For some reason recently I noticed my home field KGON's VOR identifier (GON) is identifying TMU... it even shows up as TMU on the map. I have no idea when and how this got changed or how to correct it. If anyone knows how please let me know.

Tom, welcome to SimV

Don't think it 'changed' as the mistake is in the default files, so would have always been there unless you had an add-on to 'fix' it.

To change it use the Afcad v2.21 FS2004 airport editor-http://www.simviation.com/simviation/static.php?ID=201&page=1

As you'll read in the Afcad help file (Readme.htm) you cannot delete default navaids or change the identifier. However, you can change TMU's location and other properties to make it 'inoperable'** and then create a new navaid (Terminal VOR/DME) at the proper location with the GON id.

Once done, GON will show on all maps and GPS and function.

TMU will still show, but at it's new location with it's modified properties. There will still be the TMU intersection at KGON (from the GPS database), but this will normally come into play only if using a GPS Proceedure that uses the TMU intersection.

Dave

** Put TMU out in the ocean, as a DME, Range 0.0nm and it shouldn't interfer with anything else.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.          Igor Sikorsky
