and rectangular. Can anyone tell me what caused this and how to fix it? It's not the only thing that has gone pear shaped in my duplicate install either. But I'll save that for another time. The wave problem shows up VOZ'd and UnVOZ'd.  Undecided

First thing is to check in ...\FS9\effects\texture for fx_swoosh.bmp and fx_swoosh2.bmp

Those are the bitmaps used for waves.

Joe

It just dawned on me, that I should probably say what I think caused the problem, so that others might avoid it. I am fairly certain it was caused by an auto-installer of aircraft, not sure which one. I have discovered that some people are not sharp enough to realize that when they use an auto-installer for their plane, scenery, whatever, that they should not name their folder the same as default FS9 folders, when their folder only contains what is needed for their item. This causes all the contents of your default effects, sound, or whatever folders to go bye bye.

I have gotten in the habbit of changing the install destination to a temp folder on the desktop and then moving the files manually. But some addons are done in such a way that you will miss something by doing this and in some cases, cause the addon to fail. I don't have an answer, but it is safer to either not use auto-installers at all, or redirect them to a temp folder and move the files yourself. Hope this makes sense and saves somebody the troubles I've had.  Smiley
Ok, I'm off my soapbox. You can continue on with your life now.  Grin
