My virtual home airport is PAJN  (Juneau, Alaska).  One of the things that really bothers me is that right outside of the airport, FSX has placed a generic "capitol" building.  Not only is it completely wrong, but is about 10 miles from where the actual state Capitol is.

Can anyone give advice on how to remove it from the scenery?

Thanks in advance from a first time poster...

If it is a scenery object then you would need to use an exclusion rectangle

Alternatively you could move it to a better place.

You can create your own exclusion rectangle.  However I loaded PAJN into Airport Design Editor.  The building is north of the airport.  It shows up at an image complexity setting of Very Dense.  If you set your image complexity setting in FSX to Dense it would not appear but you would lose some other buildings etc.

In ADE just selecting and deleting the building removes it.  Then compile the airport and make sure that the bgl file is saved in Addon Scenery\Scenery.

If you just want to create a small exclusion for it then the coordinates of the center are 58.368819/-134.568326.  The exclusion rectangle needs to cover that point and have excludeAll set to true

Thanks for the reply Duck.  I need the answer in a little more noobish language though, as this is my first attempt at modifying "stock" FSX.

What program are you using to define exclusions?

Alright, may need a little more help.

First time messing with the SDK and ADE.  Looks like it can do some great stuff.

Found PAJN with ADE.  Found the Library Object and Deleted it.   Compiled to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\scenery.

When I start a flight the building is still there...
When I load the stock airport in ADE, the building is there again.

When I load the PAJN_ADEX_RTB file that I created in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Addon Scenery\scenery, there is no building.

Seems I am having trouble with hierarchy of importance between the add on and stock airport files, and it is loading the stock.  Any ideas how I may be able to correct that?

The scenery Library in the settings tab of FSX shows add on scenery checked and in a higher priority(#11) than all of the default sceneries(#23-141)

Any thoughts on what else I may be missing?

I am not sure I understand.  First load the stock PAJN airport into ADE.  Then delete the object.  Save the ADE Project File.  Compile the revised airport and put the bgl file into ...\Addon Scenery\scenery.  I think you are saying the building is gone?

If you load the stock airport again in ADE, of course the building will be there.  This is because you cannot actually delete a stock object in FSX.  What you are really doing is telling FSX not to display it.  If you load the airport again from stock then ADE reads all the stock information including the building.  The revised file has something called an exclusion rectangle in it that tells FSX not to display that building.  Once you have created a project file in ADE save it and use that in future to modify the airport.  Unlike other tools such as AFCAD ADE uses its own format and you should not work from another format or load the revised Bgl file.
