Are you wanting to add completly new airport or just change the displayed name?

In either case you could use the free AFCAD program by Lee Swordy to create a new airport or edit the existing name.

More details would be helpful.

thank you for moving me,but i wasnt asking a panel or scenery question, i was asking a fs2004 folder modification question ty.I did actually look at other forums/simV and thought this was most appropriate if you look in the faq in fs2004 forum it mentions adding aiports #6 i think.maybe i am wrong but...........

You still have not provided enough "details" regarding the airport.

Is this something you downloaded?  If so, what is the complete filename and where did you get it?

Or is it something you created yourself?

Did you activate (add) it via the Scenery Library?

Does it include an Afcad?  If so, what is the ICAO code and where is the airport located (City State Country)?

Without complete details about what you have and how you added it to FS, it is impossible for anyone to provide meaningful assistance.

Sorry to keep pressing for details but no one here or in other forums is a mind reader.

Dave,

You need Afcad 2.21-http://www.simviation.com/simviation/static.php?ID=201&page=1.

Comes with a good User Manual, refer to the '52. Creating a New Airport From Scratch'.

To have the airport appear in the 'airport list' you need to a least complete the 'Airport Properties' dialog.

Also keep in mind that some "older" airport design programs which do not make use of the usual afcad layouts create files which may show up in the Go to Aiport dialogue if you specify that FS should search "addon-on scenery" and not "default scenery".

This screenshot shows what I am trying to describe:
