Going back.... (Read 799 times)

Hi Pete,

small problem, no big deal. Everytime I post an answer, I can't go 'back'. For example, I reply to a thread and hit post message, I get to see the thread with my message displayed. Now I want to go back to the main forum so I hit the back button but I get the same page again and again. I have to close the forum on my browser and start over again to get back to the main forum.

Crash Wink

Edit: to get back to the main forum after posting this message I had to hit the back button 4 times. 3 times it dispalyed this message, the fourth time I got back to the main page.

Crash. Flying Trucker had the same problem & fixed it himself. http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1252019884

If you're using IE8 this might help --> Introducing Compatibility View

Thanks for the reply Hagar. It's something I have to live with then. I don't run Vista and somehow IE8 doesn't want to connect to the internet on my pc. No problem.

Hmmm. Which browser are you using? EGCC is having the same problem with Firefox so this is obviously not restricted to IE8 or Vista.

I'm using a small browser called Maxthon. Does everything for me that I need from a browser. Not so very famous as Opera or Firefox just as good (maybe even better). Like I said it's only a small problem and found a quick fix to it. Just click the back button 3-4 times repeatedly very fast.

Rather than hitting the back button, try using the 'Home' button to go to the main forum page, and the 'Board' button will take you to the main board of the section you are in.

Works everytime. Cool

What can you see in your back button dropdown? There may be a clue there why you aren't going back ...

Pete has a point there. I didn't read your original post properly Dave. Clicking the Back button after you've posted would take you back to the posting page, not the forum Home page.

I always click the Home link on the forum menu after posting or just visiting topics. Does that not work for you?
