Hello,

I'm looking for free addon aircraft, featuring virtual cockpit, good (realistic) flight dynamics and modelled avionics. Is there free stuff around, that can compete with the payware stuff like cloud9 aircraft? Which addon can you recommend?

The freeware (used to be payware) Realair Simulations Cessna trainer is supposedly even MORE realistic.  If I remember correctly, it is in our library here at SimV.

It beats the default 'hawk hands-down... this is one plane I know pretty well in RL, and I am impressed with the RealAir model.

The french C-150 is just fantastic. Just a payware quality product.

For Heavier jets I recommend iFly Boeing 747. It is pretty well made. Wink

Here's the link to the C150: http://www.fs-tutorials.com/en/down_plane_C150_01.php. Rumour has it that it works in FSX as well.

Rien Cornelissen's Piper Warrior v2 is also very realistic; this is the plane I'm learning to fly in, and it's reproduced very well. Available for FS9 and FSX - just google.

For good Scenery and aircraft you have to trust Sean. I don't know where he gets the time to download and find these things. Smiley

Concerning the freeware military jets for FS2004, the most realistic and complete packages I know about are the followings:

- Mirage 2000-N from Roland Laborie (look for the "basic pack" version, with nice photoreal repaints included). Nice exterior model, nice flight model, excellent virtual cockpit.
http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID=fs2004ac&DLID=125650
...

- Mirage IV from Roland Laborie, excellent flight model, excellent exterior model, excellent virtual cockpit.
http://www.simviation.com/fsxmilitary24.htm
...

- Mistubishi F-2 from FS-KBT team, excellent exterior model, excellent virtual cockpit, very nice flight model.
http://www.simviation.com/fsxmilitary24.htm
...

- F-5A Tiger from Tim Conrad, very nice exterior model, very nice virtual cockpit, nice flight model.
http://www.sim-outhouse.com/index.php?lloc=downloads&loc=downloads&page=info&Fil...
...

There are many others correspoding to your criteria of course...
