I just read the post about some members not being able to "search" for other members by name.

" I " have been having problems even connecting to the forums server all together off and on all day today.  the following is what I have been seeing, in conjunction with the INTERNET CONNECTION PROBLEM. (DIAGNOSE CONNECTION) page.

I also saw on the other post about member searches, that the servers WERE undergoing some upgrading this past week.  Are the upgrades still going on?

I am using WINXP SP3, IE8.

I find the error quite common on Sim V.....

I just "re-send" the request again, and it generally works OK... Smiley...!

The errors, and "slowness", for me, generally gets worse as more Folks come on-line to Sim V, as the day progresses.

Sometimes a computer "Re-boot", speeds things up somewhat... Smiley...!

tried pressing F5 refresh = no go

tried rebooting IE8 to see if that was the problem = no go

tried shutting the computer off for 2 seconds then reboot = no go

tried a 15min shut down then reboot = no go.

when it happens, i dont know if it might be because California and the rest of the west coast USA is coming online to look for their favorite airplane or what, but there are some nights that it starts messing up around 7pm Eastern (4pm Pacific) and continues on/off untill almost Midnight (9pm Pacific).

at least for right now it seems to be working...

I was hitting the back button and restarting the thread I was reading, but sometimes that didn't work. So it was end program and wait 5 minutes. I wonder if we are all getting the error at the same time?

I reckon it's one of our Flight Sim competitors, constantly cutting the Phone line between us and the Sim V Server... Wink..!

Now mine, also in England this morning, is running flat-out, so it is strange why we have so many different conditions in local areas....Wink...!
