I've been trying to conduct a search for posts of certian members, namely myself. Everytime I try to "Click here to select user to search for." I get...

Quote:
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@simviation.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

And, why is the box for "By User" disabled, it'd be nice to just type in a name.

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Hi Skittles

Works for me.

We have been doing some server configurations today so maybe that was it ...

But a new program on the server is installed and there could be a few teething problems ...... (when isn't there?)

Another factor is the forums themselves which hopefully will be upgraded this week. This version of Yabb is showing more & more bugs with the number of posts here. Hopefully the upgraded version will make things better.

Hm, it seems no matter what I'm searching for, I get the same error. It's gotta be my system.

Anyone else?

If it is working for me then the system has to be working.

I am guessing that maybe your browser has remembered a bad experience in it's life (probably yesterday...Wink )  & is dwelling upon it? Try emptying cache -- if that doesn't cure it -- try removing temp internet files.

Thanks Skittles. Error reports are an essential part of keeping things working here and are very much appreciated and valued.

None of the forum Search functions has worked for me for some time now. I put it down to the recent problems with the forum.

PS, The Members search does work. Just tried it.

Doug .. Contradictory statement  Wink .. Maybe you would like to try others? Some time? How long?

The fact is that 100% of all functions work much more than 99% of the time. To make general statements that they don't is not helpful at all.

If you have a specific problem at a specific time then please report it. Reports of specific problems as they happen are those who are of value and appreciated. General, negative complaints are like those people who complain about 'this free aircraft sucks' ... Not helpful.

I use FireFox and I have it setup to clear everything except Site Preferences and Saved Passwords every time I close it down.

Just now I searched the FSX forum for "fsx" and got results.

I then searched for "fa-18" in all forums and got results. I then switched the timeframe to from week to year and got an error. I still can not get the "select users" list

Well, that's reproduceable here...

Any search for posts within the last year and the "Click here to select user to search for." link both give the old HTTP 500.

That would be the internal server error, just to clarify. Tongue

Edit: Well, you can add all posts to the list. Searching within the last month was able to get results. Three months worked for the most part, rarely returning any errors now, while the year and all posts just return errors consistently on my end.

I'll keep searching and see what happens. Wink  Cheesy

OK ... this has happening probably due to server configs since the problems we were having last week.

Last night after the server came back up the problem was rife. I was getting Internal server errors on most of my forum clicks.

More work by Len ...... and now monitoring again.

Sorry for problems.

Just spotted your reply. I spend a lot of time searching the forum for various subjects. Rather, I used to as this feature hasn't worked properly for some time now.* The same goes for searching my own recent posts. Both result in error messages. (I just tried it & it's still the same.) I put this down to the recent problems you've been having & assumed you knew about it. Obviously I was wrong.

I was surprised to find that the member search feature actually worked when I tried it.

*This would be weeks rather than days. Sorry I can't be more specific.
