Hi,
I might be buying the Real Air Spitfire for FSX but I'd like to know if someone has it, wheter it's good or bad ?
Is it frame rate friendly because I don't have a top-notch PC
Thanks,
E-

Hi,
the flight model is really good. It is a typical Real Air plane - can side slip and stall/spin realistically. The engine is modelled in a way that you have to be careful when you push it or it will blow up.
It is quite easy on the frame rate. I had it running just fine on my old rig (6850 dual core, 8800 GT with 1 GB, 2 GB DDR 800 ram, win XP) - even with the high resolution textures.
Hope that helps.

What do you think when I say I'm running an AMD Athlon(tm) 64 Processor 3000+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.0GHz, a 2GB RAM and a SAPPHIRE RADEON 9600SE Edition

I just tried it and got similar frame rates as with the standard fsx baron. But I don't know how much that is saying. Maybe someone has a computer more similar to yours and can give some better advise.

I can run the Baron above 20 and I still can change the settings.
Where does my slider need to be to see the buildings from the included scenery ?
Thanks,

scenery slider has to be set to normal (medium?) - number of AI Spitfires changes gradually depending on the GA slider.

My friend Rob has spent nearly £600 on addons (that's why I spend more time on his FSX than my FSX)
.
Anyway, i've been on it and I can safely say that it's amazing. If you're used to flying jets (like me) it's a little tricky to fly, but you'll soon get used to it. It's a bit like being on a rollercoaster, fast and smooth.
I cannot summarise how good it is. If you buy it, you will not regret it. Not one little bit.

A fine piece of British engineering enjoyed across the globe. If you buy, I hope you enjoy. It's a great addon.

I think it would appeal to far more people if the produced more variants of the spitfire other than the MkIX and MkXIV, because they are onto a winner with the recipe they have used so far.
