Had my second flight today...

Flew in VH-THF a great Cessna 152 Cheesy  It was really windy and rainy, had crosswinds at Tyabb today.

Picture of the plane. Not taken on the same day

I did the takeoff and base - final approach, steep turns and my highlight a barrel roll and got to look out of the sunroof while doing so Cheesy

Very bumpy ride though when we got over the water it was all good

Yes i was lucky enough to be instructed by the Aerobatics Instructor at Tyabb Peninsula Aero Club... No i didn't have a chute because all we planned to do is stall recovery, a loop-de-loop, steep turns and a wing-over but it got too windy so we had limited things to practice next flight in Q4 Cheesy

Edit- The barrel roll i did was different as we had to dive down then pitch u then roll then level off i hit 3G's max in the pitch and -1G on the pitch down

Thats pretty cool. 3.5 is about the most I've hit so far, but hopefully thatll change if I make it into the Air Force. Neg G's are definately fun though, however I don tget the stomach thing ever anymore like I did in the beginning, which took a lot of the fun away but added a new level of precision to my maneuvers, which is cool. Im wondering how Ill do next time I ride a rollercoaster. Hopefully I can still get a kick out of it. Your lucky you get to fly aerobatics!

A barrel roll is a purely positive maneuver.  Perhaps your intrepid instructor was demonstrating a slow roll - or maybe not.

We pitched down (almost straight down) then pitched up about 20 on the artificial horizion then rolled it for what seemed like it never ended

Sounds like you had a good time Layne. Smiley

Tunnel vision at 5G's is interesting and flying inverted for about 5 minutes is fun, you've got to go for a proper aerobatics flight in a Pitts. Cheesy

Nice work Mitch Cheesy

Yeah even that barrel roll was fun but i was freaking out i must admit, i still didn't let go of the yoke which is an accomplishment for me Cheesy

BTW This is the Cessna 152 i first flew in so i love this one Cheesy

Anyway i think the Airforce will have much more in store for me Cheesy

P.S: I love the skyroof on the Aerobat's awesome when inverted
