I decided this morning to install on CFS2 on my Dell Studio laptop and play around with it. My laptop has an Intel T5850 Core Duo processor and 3 gigs of RAM. It also has an ATI Radeon HD 3400 video card. It is running Windows Vista.

When I started CFS2 and went to where I can view the planes, parts of them were simply missing. Usually it was where the engines and the landing gears should've been . It was just empty space instead. The only thing I've found that works is going into the game's settings and turning hardware acceleration completely off. Does anybody know something I could do to make planes show up as they should without completely turning off the hardware acceleration? I've tried playing with all of the settings, but nothing else ever worked.

(One other interesting thing I noticed, though I'm not sure if it really means anything. While I still had the hardware acceleration on, I switched out of full screen to see if there was difference. Funny thing was, if I clicked on my desktop where you could still see the CFS2 window, even though it wasn't the top window, the airplanes suddenly appeared just like they should.)

Thanks for any help,

Will

Sounds more like a VISTA problem . . . a lot of the older sims/games whatever, dont mix well with VISTA specially when web plays involved, the canny dudes  are dual booting to XP to get round it . . .

CFS2 is an older program with very low hardware requirements relative to your computer.

A simple solution may be to just leave the HWA off.  Not sure that you actually need it.   With it HWA off are you experiencing low FPS in the sim?  Smiley

Actually, it seems to be running very well. After I made that post, I played around for a few hours and it was very, very smooth. I guess I just expected trouble prematurely.

Thanks for the help, though it appears now none was needed, lol.
