Some freeware aircraft needs FSUIPC for the radar. If you want to do carrier landings some of the carrier packages and freeware addons for carrier landings need FSUIPC. Downloading and installing is easy, I never had a problem. There is a support forum and Pete responded quickly to all my questions. There is a freeware version, but if you want all the bells then you need the payware version. Depending on what you want to do you may need the payware version. It has been so long since I looked into this I do not recall the difference. Go to the FSUIPC site and somewhere is should discuss the difference.

OK, here's my question... I know FS9 without FSUIPC is a no-go. A lot of payware and freeware addons required FSUIPC for all things to work properly... what's the deal for FSX? Is it as important as it was for FS9?

FSUIPC for FSX is just like FSUIPC for FS9. Same applies.
Got bloom ?
Got mountains ?
Got damage ?
