I am wondering about getting a force feedback joystick. It seems that most if not all of the high end JS's aren't FF and people say that's because most of the planes everyone is flying these days are FBW or all hydraulic powered and FF wouldn't be realistic. While some of the aircraft I fly are like this, not all of them are. I like alot of the older warbirds and many of them aren't like that. I am very interested in Lotus' L-39 coming out soon since I work on them for a living and an Albatros doesn't have any hydraulic assist anything. The stick is connected directly to the flight controls, so wouldn't a force feedback stick be better for something like that or maybe a Mustang, or even a Cessna 182? Anyway my question is... are there decent FF joysticks around?

Are you referring to a force feedback joystick for use in a real airplane? I have a great force feedback joystick (MS Force Feedback 2)but it's only for flight simulators. If you are talking about the real joy stick (airplane control) perhaps the section on Real Airplane may be able to answer your question better.

LOL sorry if I wasn't clear. I do mean force feedback in a simulator. I know that there are some real a/c that have something like FF; I believe one version of the F-86 had something like that when they went to hydraulic powered flight controls so the pilot could still "feel" the aircraft. Anyway I am looking at this Logitech G940 system that is coming out soon. I'm just trying to get some info on it and other systems.

They have several FF joysticks in the market but none that can compare to the MS Forcefeedback 2 mainly because it has a large and heavy base which makes it stable. All other makes such as Saitek, Logitech and also MS models have more features but I am satisfied with the FF2. BTW, you may not find this model any longer.
