A little over a year ago Shaun Lunt was killed doing what he loved, flying in Alaska. He shared the state's beauty through his pictures that he posted on his site, with the rest of the world.
http://shaunlunt.typepad.com/

This tour will start at Felts Field, Washington and end in Fairbanks, Alaska. It will be cut up into 15 hops, most under an hour in length.

Flight Plan:
     ...

Where: CBJ4 -> CAL5 for hop #4.

When: Friday, July 31st at 3pm EST/8pm GMT and again on Saturday, August 1st at 1pm EST/6pm GMT.

What to Fly: Small prop with short field abilities. I'm flying the Piper Super Cub found on this site. It is for FS9/FSX.
Download link: http://www.simviation.com/simviation/download.php?ID=489

Weather: I'll use real-world weather.

Server IP: fs.netfrag.org

Here is a website that will let you overlay sectional charts in Google Earth.
http://www.wikihow.com/Overlay-Sectional-Aeronautical-Charts-in-Google-Earth

I will be flying the tour with real-world weather and limited fuel. Since many airports up north do not have fuel, I will be flying a Super Cub with a 'belly-tank'. In order to refill from the tank I will have to land, so that means putting it down where ever the ground is flat enough... Wink

And when we get up to Alaska I may land whenever I see something interesting... Grin

No autopilot here, hill-hoppin' all the way! Grin

Hope to see you there!

lol..... Grin

According to http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com, 1300 EST is not 1800 GMT. According to this website, it is about 1800 GMT now

Are you referring to British Summer Time as GMT?

Sean normally calculates our Local Time over here, and our regular GMT?/EST flights always match up.

Its 7:00 PM on my clock at the moment...(BST?).... Wink...!

I thought the whole point of giving times in GMT is that you all start at the same time. LOL Tongue Grin

Forget EST/BST whatever. It doesn't matter whether you're over here, down under or over there, GMT is the same all over the planet. 6 pm GMT is the same time in California as it is in your front room.

PS. Hang this on your wall. Wink http://www.page-1.com/GMT/

Tee-Hee...

I shall never get used to this Time Zone malarkey....like I will never get used to the 24 hour clock...or the Metric system...

.....or why Females are different to me... Shocked...!

GMT the same all over the World?... Roll Eyes...!

For our Multiplayer Flights....

Whenever one of our American Chums organises his time in EST, CT, MT, and PT, I have to count Forwards, 5...6...or 7 hours to achieve my Local Time for the Flight.

If I want to find the time in the various Time Zones in the USA, I have to count Backwards, 5...6..or 7 hours to know their local time

This doesn't take into account the "Summer/Winter Time" in the various Time Zones, which confuses things even more...(for me)... Wink...!

But I generally manage by keeping a careful eye on here, as the time approaches...>>> http://cockpit.netfrag.org:81/

Luckily for me, our little darlings in the USA generally arrange the flight times to correspond to around 8:00 PM in the evening (my time)...which equates to 3:00 PM..2:00 PM or 1:00 PM in the afternoon for them...Bless their Cotton Socks!.. Kiss...!

Paul....in an alternative Time Zone... Grin...!

P.S. E-Mail a description of the difference between me and Females... Smiley...!
