from my previous post; Nothing worked on the FSDS2 failure, but after trying various bits, Abacus got me a link to FSDS3 that does handle textures on my pc - how's that for customer service?

Now I'm trying to follow Felix's instructions to get to CFS2 from FSDS3
1. The phrase 'install the CFS2 gamepack' is unfamiliar.
I have CFS2 installed from the disks, but there is no'makemdl.exe' file anywhere.
There is a gamepack directory in my Gmax install but it is empty.
I never got to the stage with Gmax of getting a plane into any of the sims-gave up frustrated-have I missed something?
2. FSDS3 seems to point only at FS2004 and/or FSX. Do I need to have these installed?
3. '....make sure you model for the CFS2 game....' do you mean keep the actual model, animations etc simple, or is there a different form of modelling that I have missed?
Feeling a bit dim here, many thanks for any help you can give.
