Not quite sure where to put this one, so it will probably get moved.
Anyway, I have downloaded and installed AIcarriers several times with no success. Cry

I love carrier ops, and REALLY want to be able to use it!
PLEASE help, I'll provide whatever info about the error message, system, or whatever.

Thanks!

I reinstalled it for the 500th time and found the error message.
it says:

at sun.nio.ch.Net.connect(Native Method)
at sun.nio.ch.Socketchannellmpl.connect(Unknown Source)
at java.nio.channels.Socketchannel.open(Unknown Source)

Whew!

Hopefully one of you 15,000+ members can help me with this. Tongue

This message happens because you actually try to launch AICarriers manually.
You should not.
AICarriers should launch automatically when FSX starts. If AICarrier starts without FSX, you get those errors.
Launch FSX, you have a new item in the menu.

When you are in FSX in a flight, do you see AICarriers in the Addons menu ?

@OP,
I tried about a million ways to get it to run after installing REX, which apparently caused some change to the simconnect or the way FSX implements Java in general as it was working flawlessly before.
Anywho to make a long story short another Poster here "wafu448" just created a shortcut to the aicarr2 .exe and starts it after FSX. I know that it's supposed to run with fsx but probably the "timeout" message I'm recieving has something to do with REX as it takes a long time to get into FSX anyway. At any rate after I get the error message upon finally getting into FSX I close that window and start aicarr2 and all works OK. I know it isn't elegant, but it IS functional.

P.S.- Enjoy the Nimitz!!!
