My old IBM XP  SP3 system finally rolled over and died. I am going to now have to purchase a new system. The one I am getting from Lenovo, is a P8200 Quad system, at 2.8ghz, 4 gig of RAM, NVIDIA GE Force 9300E, and a 640Gig Harddrive.
I know the system is a powerhouse, but like so many today, it is running Vista 64 Bit OS.
I have looked through FAQ, and 2004 forums..and not found much to go on. I am forced to run FS2004, one because I like it better over FSX, and two because I fly the Dreamflights 727 400 Bazillion hours a day, and there isnot one yet for FSX.
My quesiton is.....Am I looking at any major (ok...Minor too) pitfalls. Has anyone run 64bit Vista and 2004 and found any problems?
Just getting my ducks in a row before I install....Thanks in advance.

Well, I'm running FS9 on a 32 bit system laptop with about half the capacity of your system in all respects, and I get decent framerates with most sliders near or at the max.  The only thing I can't run is the AA in-game, which I attribute to my processor speed (1.9 GHz, dual-core).

I've got Vista Ultimate 64 bit and I can run FS2004 just fine.

You shouldn't have any problems with that setup.

Travis and rd Thanks much for your response. I did not think I would have problems..but My experience says any time you shift applicaitons from one platform to another, there is always some little Glitch to deal with..Again thanks for response..and I will go ahead and install.

Just to add: I've upgraded from Vista 64 bit to Windows 7 64 bit and all is well with 2004, FSX, X-Plane, and even 2002. I thought about loading up my 2000 Pro, but I haven't done that.
