Since you like the GB scenery so much, you may want to check out the Columbia River Gorge scenery he has as well.

Opa has several excellent addons for this scenery as well, including some awesome AI boats & planes. Cool

All of this should be available here. Wink

Found out I already had 2.0 on my machine and did not know it. Installed Glacier Bay and I have one comment and one question.
Comment:
DAMN!!!  Shocked Shocked Shocked

Question: Is there any way to make the textures Global?  Roll Eyes Smiley
I lied. I have another comment. I can't wait to get my RAM so I can start turning slider bars up.
Thanks for all the help guys. Screenshots forthcoming when I can quit exploring long enough to actually take a screenshot.  Grin

I take it that you are impressed with GB.  I was pretty sure you would be.

Be sure to read and follow the instructions in the manual. As an example, changing the Vertex setting in your FS9.cfg file from the default 19 value to 20 does make the mountains and valleys even more impressive.  (Note - a value of 21 is the maximum FS2004 will recognize)

This freeware offerring is just like his payware Misty Fjords and Tongass Fjords (other areas of Alaska) - extraordinary.

And no, the textures cannot be extended to other areas.

Enjoy!   Wink

Impressed? Gee, I did not know you were so gifted at understatement.  Grin No, it doesn't do Alaska justice, based on real photos I've seen, but it's the best looking scenery I've seen on my machine. And though I asked if I could make it global, I pretty much doubted it. But wouldn't it be great if you could. But, if memory serves, Paul said you could with VOZ, which I plan on installing soon.
The only down side I see to GB, is now I don't want to fly anywhere else.   Sad Grin
Yes, I read the manual and already changed the terrain setting. But thanks. Impressed? You betcha boots, only impressed somehow just doesn't really say it.  Smiley

I've had the 'Gorge' for a while now and it has been one of my favorite places. Don't get me wrong, it's great. But it's just not quite as good as Alaska. Not because of the programming but because the terrain it has to work with is not quite as good. But Oregon/Washington have been my favorites for a while. And I do love the Gorge scenery. I posted a few shots from there, but I can't seem to find them on my drive. Guess I'll have to do a search for my post and get a copy from there. I like to keep all my posted shots in one folder. But thanks, one never knows.  Smiley And I will look for the add-ons for the Gorge.

Yeah, I saw the news yesterday Paul. Not sure why in my own mind yet, but I'm hopeful. Would say more, but don't want to get into a 'political' discussion.  Roll Eyes Smiley

Go with it - I did and it looks very nice if you're partial to beautiful mountains, fjords, glaciers etc.

How about one or two small screenies for those of us who are interested but terrified?

My system: AMD Phenom 9500 cpu, 2 x eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTS Superclocked vidcards (640Mb DDR3 each), Zalman "sunflower" 9700 fan, Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 mobo, 4Gb G.Skill PC2-6400 DDR2 800Mhz RAM, 2 x Sony 20X DVD writers, Thermaltake Toughpower 850W modular p/s, 7 x 120mm fans, Windows XP Home and SP3, 2 x 250Gb Western Digital SATA-300 HDs (1 for apps, 1 for storage and precious files backup), CoolerMaster CM 690 case, NOD-32. If you follow the train tracks on the docks in Opa's first shot, you will come across several trains & train stations along the way. Cool

FYI - for anyone contemplating installing this excellent scenery -

The package use an auto-installer (which I normally never trust) BUT, this is one which you can trust - in fact I think it is the only way to properly install the scenery.

Actually, I trust anything which has Holger Sandmann's name attached to it.  He has likely forgotton more about FS than most of us will ever hope to know - a true genius in many respects.

So, the new Sarah Palin Scenery download won't be available? Too bad, I was looking forward to THAT scenery!

How about 4 big ones.  Grin No need to be terrified, just follow the instructions and you will have excellent results.
As to the screenies, bear in mind my shots don't do the scenery justice. I can't seem to find the right combination of weather, time of day, angle, etc. But here you go:
