Seems to be working fine for me.

Try the usual:

Firewall settings
Security settings
If you're using anti-virus software, check it's firewall settings

Are you using FSUIPC?  It controls some connections for the weather generator in FS, if it's registered.

Perhaps the doc's removed it because it's signals might interfere with your health? Wink Cheesy

FSUIPC is a module that interfaces with FS to provide extra control over the system that runs FS, and smooth or allow interfaces between FS and exterior programs that effect it.  Those are some of the minor things it can do.  It's actually a very powerful little module, which is required by some addons.  If I were you, I'd go ahead and get it just to be on the safe side.  It will work even if you don't register it ($), and might actually fix your problem.  I'm not sure on that.

Make sure you get the correct version!  Click on the blue lettering saying "FSUIPC 3.90".  After you download it, drop the module into your "Modules" folder in FS.  That's it!

Other than that, I can't see why it wouldn't work.

Regarding weather. I am fairly new with FS9 and FS generally and have not been able to find how to generate winds on "create a flight". I have noticed much discussion on crosswind landings so there's something I've missed.  I have looked through the learning center several times  but can't locate any directions on how to generate winds. My settings are at  most difficult.  Appreciate any guidance on this.

It's very simple:

From "create a flight" click on the  "change" tab for "selected weather"

-then select "user defined"

-"customize"

You will then see options to change the direction and speed of the wind (at the surface). If you click on "advanced", you will see tabs to make more detailed changes: different winds at different altitudes, shear strength, gusts, etc.

Go to Weather, (hit the change option), then User Defined, then Customize.

You will see a wind direction "compass" with a red pointer which can be dragged to whatever heading you wish and a wind speed slider.

It is fun to experiment with these settings.   Smiley

Gentlemen: Thanks very much for the guidance. I missed "customize" and you've solved  the problem. Thanks again.
