So, the Wheatcrofts have taken Gillett to court over unpaid rent and to cancel the lease.
Oh dear. Seems that an exciting project (for a few years - I don't dislike Silverstone, but it's nice to have a change) was led by buffoons.
Shame Brands Hatch isn't a top grade circuit anymore for top level racing. A GP there would be cracking.

Can I say I told you so yet? Or do I still have to wait?

I would much prefer Silverstone anyways, but I suppose lord Bernie will screw that up somehow

Bernie's said silverstone is done. I dont really know why he's got such hatred for the place. I love the circuit. This year really could be a good race. And personally I can only see this Donnington thing embarressing Bernie no matter how much he may now be trying to distance himself from it.

Maybe Banduras cognitive social learning theory has some weight when it comes to auto racing because it appears that Bernie has learned too much from Tony George when it comes to pissing people off.

To be honest they've kept fiddling with Silverstone for the past 20 years, and change for a few years would've done no harm.
Just think, up until 1986 we had the perfect solution, as Germany has now - rotating between two venues.

I think with a little cash injection then it would be possible to have a rotation of at least 3 or 4 tracks. Silverstone, Brands, Donny, even Rockingham. As much as I'd love to see them also at goodwood, thruxton and castle combe. Those are circuits better left as the classics that they are.

Don't get me wrong - having had my motorsport education at Brands as a wee sprog, it's 15 years behind in F1 terms, and to invest in it to bring it up to F1 standard, much as the plan was exciting in the late 90s, would ruin the atmosphere of the place.
Rockingham suffered from poor marketing IMO, and I believe also from the CART/IRL split, which lost some of the European audience. Also I suspect if they'd cut the prices, they'd have had a successful race.
Silverstone, is a classic track, within the limitations of its airfield origins, but they always tinker with it, although the new plans look to be an improvement. I've never been a fan of the Abbey chicane.
