I'm going to wait on this. Toyota were strong here in winter testing. It'll be interesting to see if red bull have the dry weather pace that they had in the wet to match brawn. And in theory this should be the first race that doesn't have. rain safety cars or any other thing (sandstorms possible lol) to mess things up.

red button highlights up for Bahrain 2004-2008.
I shall prob say this every race, but damn we need the V10's back. Heck we need those cars in general back. Really does make you realise how pathetic the cars we have now are.

I wouldn't say no to a return to a 2004 showing but i really do think those cars in general are needed. The slowest car in 2004 was faster than the fastest car this year. Yes I love the F2004 but I also think the Mclaren of 2005 was a very good looking car. The sounds of the V10's are a million times better than the V8's and quite frankly the top speed in 2004 was over 212mph in Bahrain, the top speed this year will be about 197. This whole backwards trip that they are on needs to stop.

Speed isn't necessarily progress. I'm just looking forward to 2010 now. USF1, Lola, and Aston Martin (Prodrive) all looking for the new slots.

Depends how excited will you be when "aston" turn up and end up like another jaguar outfit. Slowly killing off the brands credibility. Or of course USGP, they can turn up next march with their 2 american drivers and within 5 laps show why that idea is a very bad one (no offense meant to our american friends but there are no drivers in the US main stage, ready to jump in and compete in an F1 car near the top of the charts in the 10 months or so before the start. And how many here remember lola's last entry into the F1 world. 97 was it? turned up for two races failed to even qualify for either if I remember correctly. Then again when your number 1 driver is Mr Rosset you consider it a sucessful weekend if you dont have to rebuild the car before its even left the pitlane.

seriously though whats to debate?
Seen it so many times before with new teams. Next year we're likely to have split championships. One for those who stick to the budget caps and can have all the freedom they want for $50 million. And one for those who think they can do better outside the budget caps.

Theirs a lot of difference between an essentially Prodrive operation and the mish-mash that was Ford (sorry, Jaguar). As for Lola, they can design a car, and in the next year I suspect there will be plenty of people able to make a talented team around.
As for USF1, if they choose the correct drivers, they should be okay.
