What kind of plane is that? Great job at landing it, good thing there were no cars!

Ain't this about the time of year that the New Yorkers head home with a Canadian under each arm?
Hence the lite traffic.
Sorry! Couldn't resist......BUT IT IS! I was a Tampa resident for quite awhile.....stayed a few years after I got out of the USAF.
The story that I saw is that it's a EAA project or a home-built that had just gotten airborne.
Plus, it's Winter Haven on a Sunday morn....all the seniors are in church.
The icing-on-the-cake moment truly was the parking lot pull-in! AWESOME ending to a situation that had sooooo much worse potential!

Good thing there wasn't much traffic, or worse powerlines across that stretch of road. Good job to keep flying and get it down. Too many guys have panicked in that situation and tried to stretch the glide to reach a runway or open field...and not made it.

That's was great flying and some tough decision making. I hope if I were in the same situation I could do the same and end up the same, but I hope more to never be in that situation.
