If you want civil and commercial aviation theres nothing better than FS....but if your also interested in military flying, these
games simulators are inexpensive to get, and they are really fun to fly. And because they are based on older aircraft with simpler avionics and weaponry, they are a little easier to get going than many other combat sims that are based on more modern complex aircraft.......that being said there are many
good modern aircraft available via freeware downloads.
