Hi All,
New member here - first post...
I've been flying with 2004 for nearly a year now, so not really a newbie as far as FS is concerned.
I've just bought the Yoke System from Saitek. Anyone else got one of these things?
I have a couple of small (but annoying) problems:
I've configured the RX Axis throttle quadrant lever to Flaps. I would expect the lever to increse or decrease the flaps incrementally, which after a fashion it does, but does not give full flaps when it's pushed to max. Likewise, when set to zero, it will not retract flaps fully. Could any other Pro Flight user offer some guidance?
So, I configured one of the 'T' buttons on the throttle quadrant as keyboard F commands to retract and extend the flaps incrementally, but this does not fully extend or retract flaps either...Baffled.
I'm certain that I've programmed this correctly.
Apart from that, I like the beast. I think the Yoke Systems adds just a tad more realism...
Anyway, nice to be here!
Best Regards,
D.

Daff,

Hi and welcome to SimV.

I am going to move this posting to the "hardware" forum section where you will likely get the most and best replies, since it really is a hardware focused posting not a fs2004 one.

Sorry I had to move it.

best,

I have the Saitek yoke, throttle quadrant and control panel on my desktop. Are you using the saitek programing software? I found it's easier to use than trying to set up each control with the in-game control set up. The best I came up with is to alias the a1 and a2 toggle to F7 and F6 (lower flaps incrementally and raise flaps incrementally, respectively). You shouldn't have any problem gettting the flaps all the way down then.

Tweaked and tweaked and tweaked!
Still can't get the last few degrees of flaps down (to full flaps) but it's as near as dammit...I use the F keys to extend the flaps the last few degrees. Must have another tweak!
Thanks for all your assistance guys.

Did you zero out your null zones for your flap axis?

I had some trouble with that with the Saitek Rudder pedals, I couldn't get a full range for the toebrake axes... and setting the null zones to zero did the trick...

The Pro Flight stuff are very sensitive, and they should be used at 0 or at most 5% null zones, otherwise, they won't reach the ends of their range

Cheers
