Do GEX and UTX have to be installed to the FSX folder? Or can I put them in seperate folders to keep track of installed addons?

GEX by default installs in the program files folder on the "C" drive. You can install that anywhere you want.
I'm not quite shue about UTX but, I would imagine you could install that anywhere also.
You could get a definitive answer on that at the UTX forum.

FSX runs fine... the problem
is you or your system

UTX must install into FSX where it wants to by default
GEX can be installed anywhere as it only sends textures to FSX when the user instructs the interface to do so
