Had to memorize the darn things when I was 11 years old. Didn't care then either.  Grin I even had this plastic map thing that you would place all the states on. Each of the states had these little banners, one showed the state flag, another the state capital, and yet another the top resource of the state. It was a Christmas gift and I hated everything about it!

During one of my years in elementary school, we had a competition to see how fast one could write all the names of the states correctly on a US map. I was the fastest of all the participants and did it in around 5 minutes. I used to know all the capitals, state birds and flowers, etc. But after playing this game, I think some of the capitals may have changed since then Grin

I got 85 (easy mode)... also not born in the States  Wink

the hard modes are just too hard without any kind of reference to the state lines... on the inland states you have to go totally blind  Tongue

Cheers

Bloody hell that was difficult.  Without the lines, it's near impossible. I score 95 and took 30 min on 'expert' or 'difficult' mode whatever.  I did cheat on one state (Rhode Island) by looking up a geographical map.  Now I never want to do that again!
