This is for a freeware addon F-18  from Team KBT. Wink

It works for some people, but not for others.

My Acceleration F-18 works just fine. Wink

Jezz Shocked Daube and you claim you still have the same Specs? Man!! Shocked You're gonna have to teach me to take shots like these Shocked

Hi again Alrot! Yes it's still my old computer that I have bought last year Smiley
There's nothing really special in this shot. It's just about the angle of view that makes it impressive. You can do it easilly: look at your plane from the same direction, then push your view point down so that it touches the ground and starts moving toward your plane. Then play with the zoom a little bit (decrease it, but not less than 0.50) and it should work Smiley

It's worth mentioning that this aircraft was created for FS9 with the FS9 SDK. It's quite likely it was 'updated' for FSX without the original author's knowledge or permission. He might not have FSX so it's unrealistic to seek his advice on a fix. I'm surprised that it works as well as it does with FSX + SP2/Acceleration.

Actually, they are now releasing FSX addons, and his site has a couple of FSX fixes for this plane for download on their front page.  Smiley

That's the only reason I tried to contact them, I know most authors of FS9 addons either can't, or don't want their addons updated to FSX, but I figured since they were doing it with this one themselves, they may know what causes this.

In that case it's quite possible they're working on a proper FSX version of the F-18, just like Alrot has been doing with his older airliners. It's unlikely they will waste time updating their older aircraft.

The problem with FSX is that there are simply too many possible variables.

Its beyond updating ,by using gmax/3d max files, its like start from the begining ,I just the parts then FSX-SDK we do have to make again the animations, change Bmp to DDS ,create Bumps and specular maps and many, many things including remodeling some parts ,I just save time modeling the entire plane again ,but work/load faster in its genuine format xml ...

I would kill to have the kirk olson f-16 in FSX-SDK format Cool

I sometimes wish I had FSX so I could mess around with these things myself. Then I come back to reality. Wink

Like I said, there's simply too many possible variables.

I'd rather have one in FS9 format, but with some gauges and clickable systems and switches in the virtual cockpit Tongue
EDIT: ah wait, we already have that. It's called Mitsubishi F-2 Cheesy

I posted this in the other forum and I will post it here.  Is it possible that you have another file on your system that makes it work?  The example that I gave was the POSKY 777.  In order to make it work I needed the guage from FS9 and msvcr70.dll.  Could it be something like that?  Are we missing a dll that you may have downloaded with another airplane?  It wouldn't be anything like FSUIPC would it?
