Only if I could figure out gmax, or is it possible to convert from Sketchup to gmax?

Your modeling abilities are way above mine....my model has taken about 5 hours... Tongue

And it doesn't even float... Grin

Not really Ravang, this isn't about skills, while you took 5 hours its because you make the model from 0 , In Gmax or 3d max there are tools which make things for you, You make the shapes in seconds,Is pretty much easier to make almost anything in gmax instead in Autocad or any other model tool its much harder ,in other words, Gmax made shapes for me ,while you have to make them ,get it?

If You put me to do that in that in Google SketchUp, I may take DAYS if I can make it !! Smiley

I don't know any of the controls so I'm lost in Gmax, that's one thing I liked about Sketchup very simple interface, and lots of video tutorials. Grin

yeah, Gmax/Max has a workflow of it's own... you have to do the tutorials to get the hang of it...

also, the stupid idiot's guide to Gmax (no offense, it's really how it's called  Wink ) is very helpful and has helped me immensely in my first efforts

Cheers and good luck!

Ravang,  If you have Sketchup Professional version then you could export your model into other formats. (like .3ds)  Which you could easily import into GMAX with a .3ds importer. But it will cost you close to $500 for Pro.  But if you have the extra money its well worth making a purchase if your really into sketchup development.  But as Alrot pointed out GMAX would be an easier and much cheaper alternative to making 3D objects... just takes some getting used of. Sad  Go with what will suit you best in the end. Smiley

You made a rough boat in 18 minutes? I have had SketchUp on my machine for a year and I can't draw anything. I have a model in my head for a plane I want to draw but can't get off Square One. It is said to be so easy, so intuitive, that a five year-old can use it. Well, not being five may be my problem. All I need is a fuselage; the rest can be done by another designer who is helping me with the design. I have the Dummies book, but get nowhere...

My system: AMD Phenom 9500 cpu, 2 x eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTS Superclocked vidcards (640Mb DDR3 each), Zalman "sunflower" 9700 fan, Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 mobo, 4Gb G.Skill PC2-6400 DDR2 800Mhz RAM, 2 x Sony 20X DVD writers, Thermaltake Toughpower 850W modular p/s, 7 x 120mm fans, Windows XP Home and SP3, 2 x 250Gb Western Digital SATA-300 HDs (1 for apps, 1 for storage and precious files backup), CoolerMaster CM 690 case, NOD-32. Won't run FSX. Locks up a lot with FS9, too.

I don't have $500 laying around so I'll just stick with using the free SketchUp... Grin
