...this illustrates my main gripe with most/all of the Sim V Screen Shots...

The Posters rarely indicate which version of the Sim they are using for their Screen Shot...FSX/FS 2004/FS 2002/FS 2000...FS '98...

Where is the contradiction? For this forum, full size means abiding to the forum rules. Wink This is the all powerful playing field leveler. Cheesy

What I should have said was post your pic with the [img] tags instead of just a link like we do in the JC's. Wink

For this theme, No.  If REX for FS9 were out now, it would be different. But as I see it, there is no payware or freeware water for FS9 that could stand up to it. For the remainder of the themes though, payware will be allowed, as I feel that there is enough payware-quality freeware to go head to head in both sims and have an equal chance. Wink

Hope everyone understands this decision. Smiley

Also, Subzer0 has had to switch to being a judge due to computer problems, so I will switch to team9, if someone else would like to have this spot let me know before 12pm est tomorrow please. Smiley

Do remember, that having REX is not only dependant on the sim, but computer spec and financial issues as well Wink

Strictly freeware is IMO fine, there are a ton of great freeware planes out there.

Shane would collect all shots, and post them in a single post. They would be numbered, and he would know which shots were of which sim Smiley

FS9 in all it's glory.

As for REX making FSX look unstoppable don't forget that Active sky ground environment and flight environment can enhance FS9 so I would say the competition is rather even.

My REX claim is with the Water only, personally, I still think the REX skies look weird, but the water looks spectacular. Which is also what this theme is centered around. Until they release REXFS9, I don't know of any water replacer for FS9 that looks that good. Really tips the scales for this one, as for everything else, I think there is a great balance between the two sims and their payware/freeware addons.

The original Xvs9 allowed no payware at all for all 5 themes, so I think skipping just one this time around isn't asking too much. Maybe this is why they didn't allow it back then. Grin

As for anonymous entries, if I can tell the difference in the sim, then surely others can.  FSX and FS9 look so different, I don't see how they could be mistaken for each other. Wink

Actually I haven't, but if you say it's good, then that's a solid enough recommendation for me. Wink  Up to now, I've been using Holger's freeware water combo. and occasionally the VOZ1.8 set. But after seeing the REX for 9 shots at their site, my fingers are tapping waiting for it, from the screens they show, it looks just like the FSX version. Shocked

But now I need to go check out Flight Enviromnet. Cheesy

I was only wondering if payware was allowed because I didn't want to uninstall REX just to take one screenshot and then re-install it. Embarrassed Roll Eyes

I do have a screenshot ready but it was taken with REX installed. I am in a pickle here. Huh

Ok,  we can do it this way then, if anyone is opposed to an REX shot being entered in this theme, speak now or forever hold your peace. Grin

If no one has spoken up by an hour before deadline tomorrow, then the shot can be entered.

But if some one does object, got to stick with the original plan for this theme.

Also, still looking for someone to take  SubZer0's FS9 slot before I have to enter a shot. Let me know.

Ok, to balance this out then, Ndude737's shot will be allowed and so will Mitch's, and for the remainder of the themes, Payware will be Allowed.

Here is Mitch's shot:

...

Sorry for all this confusion. Hopefully this clears it all up,

That makes all FSX shots present and accounted for, and we just need Ashar's and my shot to finish off the FS9 entries.

It is one of two freeware Hi-res photo real Hawaii sceneries here: http://walhalla.mine.nu/fs2004/hawaii.php

I believe it's this one: Kaneohe Bay PHNG High res photo, but could be this one: Kalaeloa, Kapolei, Oahu PHJR High resolution

That's a Naval air base for P-3's to the upper right in this shot.

And this is a very tiny portion of it. Looks best when using the mesh also on that page.(Hawaii "New Generation" SRTM mesh) Wink

Ashar has until 2pm est. today to get his shot in, and then the judges have until 2pm est tomorrow (Wed) to get their score totals for each team turned in.

Good luck to both teams! With all of these great shots, this should be very close indeed. Cool

Will verdicts be posted for each individual shot, or just the team as a whole? Smiley

Just the teams as a whole. Less confusion that way.

I'll do it the same way Clipper did the original. Add all the scores from each judge and post the totals. Smiley

If both teams haven't entered the same number of shots, wouldn't average scores work best?

I thought about that, and decided, it just wouldn't be fair. When you see the results you'll understand why. Wink

If there was an unequal number of players per team, then yeah, you're right about average scores working better, but since it's even on both sides, it would be unfair to team X since all of it's members made it in on time, Ashar even had an extra day to get his in, so I gotta go with it. Smiley

There's always this next theme to get things back on track. Cheesy

The judges did not send inividual scores just combined teams.

No, we did each shot based on 1-10.

EDIT: It appears I did all shots 1-10 Tongue.
