Your First Theme

If you have questions, or if the roster doesn't appear correct to you, please let me know now. The official kick-off is 2 p.m. EST today, so you have until  2p.m. EST Tuesday to post your entries. Post them HERE at 1024 x 768 max, 150k max. Payware is NOT allowed, Editing is NOT allowed.

...this illustrates my main gripe with most/all of the Sim V Screen Shots...

The Posters rarely indicate which version of the Sim they are using for their Screen Shot...FSX/FS 2004/FS 2002/FS 2000...FS '98...

...for us to compare the difference.....!

For this theme, No.  If REX for FS9 were out now, it would be different. But as I see it, there is no payware or freeware water for FS9 that could stand up to it. For the remainder of the themes though, payware will be allowed, as I feel that there is enough payware-quality freeware to go head to head in both sims and have an equal chance.

Hope everyone understands this decision.



Also, Subzer0 has had to switch to being a judge due to computer problems, so I will switch to team9, if someone else would like to have this spot let me know before 12pm est tomorrow please.

I was thinking, perhaps shots should be anonymous for the next round, so the judges won't know what sim they're looking at either?

Who gives a rip if REX for FS9 isn't released? Payware should be allowed anyways.  

Anyways if payware was ALLOWED this would be my entry.

FS9 FTW!
Taken on my fossil of a computer running windows 7. and since my graphics card is so old i can't access the CCC to control the AA so this was taken using the in-game AA.

My REX claim is with the Water only, personally, I still think the REX skies look weird, but the water looks spectacular. Which is also what this theme is centered around. Until they release REXFS9, I don't know of any water replacer for FS9 that looks that good. Really tips the scales for this one, as for everything else, I think there is a great balance between the two sims and their payware/freeware addons.

  The original Xvs9 allowed no payware at all for all 5 themes, so I think skipping just one this time around isn't asking too much. Maybe this is why they didn't allow it back then.

As for anonymous entries, if I can tell the difference in the sim, then surely others can.  FSX and FS9 look so different, I don't see how they could be mistaken for each other.

Sorry guys. had to RMA my P6T after it stopped posting last week. waiting for the new one. should be here in a couple of days as I chose 2-day air shipping just for this!

Actually I haven't, but if you say it's good, then that's a solid enough recommendation for me.   Up to now, I've been using Holger's freeware water combo. and occasionally the VOZ1.8 set. But after seeing the REX for 9 shots at their site, my fingers are tapping waiting for it, from the screens they show, it looks just like the FSX version.

But now I need to go check out Flight Enviromnet.

I was only wondering if payware was allowed because I didn't want to uninstall REX just to take one screenshot and then re-install it.

I do have a screenshot ready but it was taken with REX installed. I am in a pickle here.

I didn't want to create a fuss. I could always skip this theme, if deemed necessary.

Is it ok if I send my shot to you via PM now, because its late over in here in Australia and due to time zones(that nonsense) the deadline will way too early in the morning. Its up to you mate?

I don't have/use REX but it's not a problem to me if someone uses it.

Ashar has until 2pm est. today to get his shot in, and then the judges have until 2pm est tomorrow (Wed) to get their score totals for each team turned in.

Good luck to both teams! With all of these great shots, this should be very close indeed.

My bad, I guess I'm off by a day. Well, deadlines are deadlines.

Just the teams as a whole. Less confusion that way.

I'll do it the same way Clipper did the original. Add all the scores from each judge and post the totals.

The judges did not send inividual scores just combined teams.

Some Judges sent me totals, some sent individual scores. Either way is fine.
