I often wonder why people spend a lot of money on those old wretched things when they could be out buying a really nice new car (or a many dozen Ducs and Suzukis)

Good one on the person who sold it - A load of cash for something I think is a bit silly to want to own.

This is a very rare car, hence the big price tag. Some people buy vintage cars as an investment. You start losing money on the average new car as soon as you drive it out of the showroom.

Hagar, I think if the new owner starts driving this Bugatti he will lose money too. These cars are only worth so much if kept in very good conditions. Which means you have to keep in indoors....

Some collectors do just that. Of course he could be an enthusiast in which case he will want to drive it.

Now, which category does this chap fall into? Wink http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-473216/F1-boss-Eccleston-auction-fabulou...

I purchased a very dilapidated old 1931 Riley 9 Monaco from a junk yard in 1970, for £25...recognising its potential...Wink...!

Totally rebuilt it to Brooklands Riley 9 Grand Prix, 1-1/2 seater Specifications, in British Racing Green, used it for daily transport, and shows, for many years, and finally sold it for £9,000 in 2004 to a German buyer who collected it personally..!

It was loads of fun to drive, and attracted many admirers everywhere I drove it... Cool...!

Paul....A 1934 vintage relic from the past... Wink.... Grin....!
