Unless they market like hell in the US, they won't last long.  Maybe they'll bid to make the Indy 500 part of the F-1 championship.

Maybe so, but their presence may help the cause to bring back a US GP (hopefully at a real track, rather than a speedway/infield), such has Vijay Mallya with Force India (or Force Just of the A43 as on magazine called them last month).

Well it was part of the Grand Prix circuit from 1921-1930. Wink

Would love to see it come back to Laguna Seca,  and I don't really see this new US team going very far, they just never do. Maybe if they found a way to attach the Andretti name to it, it may spark some interest. Most of what the average racing fan knows about F1 here is that Andretti was a part of it once.
I think a big part of why Americans don't get into other motorsports is that they don't know the drivers.  US fans like to identify with their dirvers, and feel a special connection, it's hard to do that, when you can't even pronounce the drivers name correctly.  I so wish they would make learning multiple languages a requirement in schools here. I think we sometimes miss out on the greatest moments in all sports due to this little bit of ignorance. Embarrassed
