Nah, the quality of Abacus products...really, isn't spectacular. Do you like complexity?

If so, check out:

http://precisionmanuals.com/

For the visual aspect:

http://www.realenvironmentxtreme.com/
(thats environmental, i.e water, clouds, tarmac, sky)

For good looking scenery, check out:

With regards to the mesh:
Most global meshes are using the same source data (NASA SRTM + some local mesh data e.g. for some parts of the alps). These source data have a lot of voids which need to be filled by interpolation. Depending on the method used the end results can look different, but in general I would not say there is a global mesh that is better than another. I have FSGlobal2008 and am quite happy with it. In most parts of the US and Europe it has the same resolution as the FSX default mesh but for the rest of the world it is a great improvement.

If you are interested in very high resolution mesh for smaller areas, I can recommend FSDreamscapes:

As for the airliner, in additon to the PMDG ones, I can recommend the LevelD 767:

If you are interested in a vintage airliner, the A2A Stratocruiser + AccuSim is the state of the art:

Best regards
Manuel

Thank you both for your recommendations. I looked at the links and I have some decisions. Two questions.

1.) I can download these for FSX and use them at the same time? One for scenery and one for environment?

For good looking scenery, check out:

2.) Do these have huge performance hits on your pc? I do have a quad core, 4 gig ram, and a 4850 ATI.

Yep, you can use them at the same time. Wink

As I said, Real Environment Xtreme does the clouds, water, tarmac and sky. Full Terrain Xperience does only the ground textures and landclass.  Smiley

At the moment, Full Terrain Xperience only covers four different regions in Australia, but a Pacific Northwest package is coming soon for Alaska and Canada.

Your PC should be able to handle this stuff. I don't run Real Environment Xtreme, but I have heard that it may increase performance in some cases. REX has scalable texture sizes for clouds (beteen 512 and 4096), so it shouldn't be much of a problem to adjust it if it doesn't run smoothly anyway.

Full Terrain Xperience really made a difference for me while flying in the country. There is no performance hit, only a performance gain. In large cities around Australia, it is more or less the same as default.

With autogen at normal, my Nvidia 8800GT and Pentium 4 3.2Ghz can handle the default A321 on an approach to YSSY at 17 FPS, which is quite good for my CPU. With a quad core, expect a relatively higher result, even with higher autogen settings.

I wouldn't get the Abacus planes.
