Looks like they're brought another plane, a Cessna C172 for FSX. Looks brilliant, lot better than standard FSX.

Looks like a very nice aircraft.

I personally do not see what draw there is to a 172, but I guess if it sells well, that's all that counts.

I'm personally hoping that they make their Archer IV (T-tail) FS2004 compatible. I'm pretty sure that will sell well, since I don't think we've seen one of those since FS2000.

They will do the 172 for FS2004 too. So there is a good chance that the Archer will be done also.

If more newbie Flight Simmers practised their skills in the Cessna Trainers (150/152/172) first, (like real Pilots do), instead of leaping straight into Commercial, Passenger, jet-propelled, Cigar Tubes, (and asking lots of questions), there would/should be a good sale of the Carenado Cessna 172...Wink...!

I beg to differ... Great as it looks, there's already a C172 in FSX, and it's one of the default planes in the game, that the most work has been put into.

So I wouldn't really go ahead and buy Carenado's... I got something else to look forward to! Cheesy

My big regret in all of the MS Flight Sims (FS '98/2000/2002/2004/FSX) was/is the omission of the little Default Cessna 150/152 Trainers, for the budding Flight Simmers to practice their Flying skills, etc, first, before embarking upon more complex Aircraft...Wink...!

There are also a couple of jets in FSX. Should PMDG stop developing a 747 for FSX? There will always be people who want something more (better) than the default aircraft. I don't think Carenado just develops a Cessna 172 without some proper research on selling them.

...the funny thing is...

When it comes to Default/Freeware aircraft versus Payware aircraft, I seem to spend most of my time looking out of the windows and admiring the scenery scrolling below me as I skim the tree-tops in my GA Piston Props, rather than admiring my fancy paintwork and upholstery...

...so...

...the vast selection of Default and Freeware aircraft seem perfectly adequate for me... Smiley...!

If its got a reasonable 2D instrument Panel containing everything I require for my journey, and its free, I am a happy bunny... Smiley...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...and a cute little, free-bee, Cessna 150... Grin...!

Don't get me wrong Cheesy

On the PMDG 747, the default jets lack a lot of instrumentation. Having never tried the PMDG, I wouldn't know, but I'm pretty sure it adds a lot more.

And EG 7, the default C172 comes with steam gauges as well Cheesy Would never touch that G1000 stuff....  Roll Eyes Cheesy

But who am I kidding, if I had the money, I'd probably buy the Carenado version myself Grin

the default C172 is pants compared to carenado's standards, the default maule on the other hand is superb which actualy did have alot of work done on it, the C172 feels and looks like the FS9 C172 ported to FSX

I have several Carenado aircraft and they are probably the best payware purchases ive made Smiley
