Military AI Works has a few helicopter packages.  Apaches, and recently, Chinooks and UK Seakings.  They are great packages.

so it looks like they were specially designed to be AI helicopters. is it possible though for me to make any heli AI?

I can't even figure out how to make them show up at the airport much less fly.

Sort of...........  Apparently there is some program out there for FSX that is supposed to let you make any helicopter into an AI one.  Don't know any more than that.

FS9 helicopters that are NOT originally designed to be AI can be tweaked to perform somewhat like an AI helicopter would using the AIR file of a motorglider to simulate the helicopter's flight characteristics.

Search for "Stemme Motor Glider" or similar.  Hovercontrol has a couple of packages where they've converted some user helicopters to AI using this method.

It's not anywhere near perfect, but it will work, although the takeoff and landing characteristics are not helicopter like at all.

The Apache and Chinook were built from the ground up to be AI machines and they use some fancy XML coding and extensively modified flight dynamics to get them to replicate helicopter takeoffs and landings.  So part of their flight behaivor is a modelling trick that has to be done inside the modelling program.

Hope that answers your question.
