MAN what a difference
all while locked at 24fps without a single stutter.. BEFORE I even defragged the drives (just finished that a few minutes ago actually)

Sure makes a difference when you run FSX on a capable machine doesn't it?
Very nice. I hope to see more shots from your new system.

Its nice to see everything you have been missing
Now you know why I moved to overclocking DDR3 in March of 2007
I have been seeing that for years

I have to say Nick, it's not the same as yours in the way the textures load though.. I mean, they definitely load much quicker with the Vraptor but I'll have to try some other TBM numbers in the .cfg to see what happens

tuning is located here:
http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=29041
that TBM value will be 70 or 80, nothing more, nothing less
and if you are screwing around with adding scenery radius past the 4.500000 or 100% you are really flirting with messing up a good system
leave it alone
I7 does not mean ‘carte blanch’ to 100% sliders everywhere in FSX
You have to tune it so when you see drops you can quickly change
1. Autogen 1 notch
2. Scenery complexity 1 notch
3. Frame locked or unlimited
Water should always be 2xLow in heavy scenery
...when you may go from a low scenery load hub to another which may be a high load
Default AI traffic is killer too... usually best to tune with 30 for AL/GA and see if it can be raised after all is said and done
And REX/FEX 2048-4096 HiDef will definitely spank that system I dont care what proc and card are in it.. they look pretty, they cost a lot
...and dont forget to clock that video card some too.

the card is well clocked... it's up to 670 on the clock (stock 576), shader clock 1444, mem clock 1200. temps are fine and runs quite well. have tested it several times.
the TBM set now is at 70, I'm about to go try 80 right now. water is set to 2xlow, always there. autogen is all the way to the right on both sliders at all times... never drops below 20fps but the smoothness goes away where there are trees all around in large, LARGE numbers.. like you can't see the ground, such as in some parts of Hawai'i
)
REX textures are 1024, not that hidef crap that eats up the system. it looks almost just as good to me anyways
traffic is at 30 and the airport traffic at High.. frames lock at 24 at KLAX.. somehow
HDDs are well defragged... just did another run last night after installing a couple of games.. and FSX in on the Vraptor with nothing else on it
I'll try that TBM 80 and see what I get
thanks,
Andy
