---don't worry i figured it out, i had to use my second video card, then i could full screen FSX and still have my instrument panel running! hooray!

hey all, long time reader here.

anyway, after a lot of searching i have found no solution to this problem.
When running full screen in FSX on a multimonitor set-up, is there ANY WAY AT ALL to limit FSX to one monitor, so i may use the other for my add-on cockpit/radio, which are separate programs and run outside of FSX. WITHOUT using 2 computers networked together.

im really desparate for a fix here, as i am building a training simulator for my flight school (not certified sim) and really dont want to have the fsx window+title bar visible.

ive tried a few things but ive run out of ideas.

Please help, PLEASE!

i'll just post for future reference...

another way to get FS in fullscreen without using a second card, is to tweak the multi-screen settings of your video card to have it display 2 desktops, instead of one continuous desktop across 2 screens

the location of this setting varies depending on what brand GPU you have, in case of nVidia, it's located in the nVidia control panel (right-click desktop, choose nVidia control panel) in the 'configure multiple screens' tab

there are 2 modes for displaying across 2 monitors, one is single desktop across both (screen A, screen B)
the other is 2 desktops, one per screen (screen 1, screen 2)

you want to choose the latter, as maximized of full screened programs will stick to one screen on this mode, while on the other they will maximize across all display

Cheers
