I have read that this card preforms better than the 9600GT and is just as good as an 8800GT superclocked, and is much cheaper, is it a good choice for me to buy it?

I will be playing games like cyrsis, far cry 2 Ect.

I have seen fps resaults... 7.8 FPS 1980X1600 (or Whatever that one is)

On Very high in Cyrsis Cool

I will be overclocking it Wink

8800GT / 9800GT murder the 9600GT and 4670, even if the latter are overclocked. They're like twice as fast as both. Compare the 9800GT to the Radeon 4830.

9600GT is faster than 4670 by a large margin.

http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/amd_ati_radeon_4670_performance_review/page1...

Grab 9800GT... 75% more shader performance... 30% more expensive... ($40 more).. over 9600GT.

AFAIK, ATi doesn't perform well in FSX. But also look at Radeon 4830; it's slightly faster than 8800GT and costs more.

If it is for your new system, I would go for the 8800GTX or GT. Great performing cards and are made to play games like crysis/fs/fallout etc. Yes, you will be able to have crysis on very high (I can on my 2.5ghz dual core and 8800GT 3gbs RAM) but it only runs at 10FPS or so... if you want the best looking games on the planet, get a job and save your money and wait for intel 8 cores and get the best video card out there. If not, suck up the FPS loss or just play with your settings on medium. Wink

CPU went up by $40 Sad so had to downgrade on graphics card, so either 8800GT or HD4670?

8800GT FTW IMO and the 8800GT fits in my Micro ATX case just fine. Wink

8800GT is over twice as fast as 4670. Get 8800 or preferably a 55nm version of the 9800GT. Also look at 4830.

Problem with 8800GT is it doesn't overclock well. LOL. Core clock is 600mhz, shaders 1500mhz, memory, 900mhz. Damned thing only goes to 700/1740/955. I've been thinking about volt modding it and going to 850mhz plus.  Grin

I'm looking at 4830, but only the super expensive com store sells it... they are always on graphic card $100 more Cheesy
