just came across this... don't know it it's been posted before, but i thought it was quite cool and worth posting

i'm gonna give this thing a try on my Mio C230 when i get back home,  would be simply awesome if i get it to work

http://www.xmapsy.com/index.htm

this program that interfaces with your pocket PC GPS (or something like that) and feeds it data from FS, making it display on it's map your position.
the only drawback is that it's quite expensive for what it is... but there is a demo available

my GPS was too expensive to just leave it in the compartments of my car, given i only use it when i'm going someplace i never been to before, and that doesn't happen too often, so this might be a very good way to put it to some use

if it works, i'm gonna integrate it with my throttle console project and it will be simply awesome

Cheers

Another possibility is Pete Dowson's gpsout.dll . See www.schiratti.com and click on dowson for more info.

Now if you can just get the aviation database for the car GPS with fixes and navaids and such ....... you'd be stylin'.   Wink

there's a database called PocketFMS out there that i think does just that...

but i think it's payware as well...

anyways, it could potentially work with a car navigation software, even though you won't get the aviation information
