I have recently upgraded my graphics card from a ATi Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition (3 years old) to a new NVidia GeForce 9600GT XXX.

Having removed the old card and ATi drivers I then installed the new card and all the NVidia drivers correctly as per the instructions.

The problem Im getting is that no matter what settings I apply in the NVidia control panel, it doesn't have any effect when I load FS9.
For example, when I set AA to 8x in the control pannel I still get horrendous 'jaggies' in the game. Turning on AA through FS9 itself also fails to correct the jaggies.

Have I missed something in the install upgrade? Do I need to update the FS9.CFG for the new card?
Im not sure whats causing the problem and its a bit annoying to have a brand new card perfoming worse than the old one!  Undecided

(I'll post my system specs below shortly...)

Thanks in advance for any advice.
Ed

It sounds like your sim may still be trying to use your old card's settings. Try this. Set folder options to "show hidden files and folders" if you haven't already, then go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\*your account name*\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9 and delete your FS9.cfg.

The next time you start your sim, a new config file will be created, and if your new card's software is installed correctly, it will pick up on it and should allow you to apply your new settings to the sim.

You'll need to redo any joystick settings and key assignments, as well as any tweaks you may have made to the FS9.cfg file, which can be a pain, but it may fix your problem.

Hope it helps.

Thanks for the quick reply Groundbound! Smiley

Ive tried deleting the .cgf and re-running fs9 but its still not responding to any changes to the graphics settings, both in-game in via the NVidia control panel.
I might try re-installing the graphics card drivers again to see if thats whats causing the problem.

Heres a shot in the dark: Make sure those drivers are the latest/greatest. 180.48  Also, now that you have an Nvidia card, try using Nhancer and set it up according to NickN's sticky regarding this.

Hope this helps.

i had the same issue when upgrading from my 6600gt to 8800gt. only way i could fix it at all was to increase the resolution. If you discover a fix i'd love to know

Thanks.
I'll try setting up Nhancer and messing with the resolution.
It wont be an issue with the BIOS will it?
