I have heard the album...it's not what you would expect from GNR...I didn't like it at all.

They used to have a western rock sound, and usually with a few driving blood pumping songs, a good acoustic riff, and MAYBE a balad to top the charts (my examples are sweet child o mine, welcome to the jungle, november rain, civil war, paradise city, don't cry, patience, badobsession, and mr brownstone... etc)

This album...has nothing the old Guns 'N' Friggin Roses had.  It's almost wierd sounding.  Electronic stuff mixed in with the guitars, no driving drum beats, I mean, the only thing that sounds like GNR, is when Axle raises the pitch of his voice.  Seriously.

Some of you might like it.  Me?  As a HUGE Guns N Roses fan, I am bummed out, but not surprised.

I won't be buying this album, but I will continue to jam their old albums at eardrum rupturing volume!!!!

I love velvet revolver!  They drive their music, sounds like good ole hard and heavy  rock n roll.  GNR's new album...does not  Undecided

I'm not trying to blast GNR and get people to not buy their album, by all means support them, I still love them to death, I'm just stating my opinion of the new album

Not a huge GnR's fan but as a side note you can get a free 20 ounce Dr pepper thanks to the band, if you go to the dr pepper website. They said earlier in the year that they would give everyone in the US a free soda if that album was released this year. Now they are backing that up.
Quote:
LOS ANGELES - Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is a reality.

The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. "Chinese Democracy," infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.

"We never thought this day would come," Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."

Beginning Sunday at 12:01 a.m., coupons for a free 20-ounce soda will be available for 24 hours on Dr Pepper's Web site. They'll be honored until Feb. 28.

Well I got it saturday and after listening to the album for a bit I must say that I do like the album as an album.

I agree with Bigtruck though, this isn't Guns anymore. It does not deserve to wear the name Guns n' Roses.

It isn't a bad album. The singer is still great ( Though losing power of voice??) The Musicians are solid again.... ( I do like Buckethead) but it isn't Guns!

Basically this is the second time this year that a second incarnation of a band came out with a new album, The first being Queen+Paul Rodgers and now Guns... I think Queen did did it properly by naming themselves + Paul Rodgers. That said it would be different..

IMHO Axl should have done the same... it should have been AXL + Something but not Guns N Roses.

They aired about the whole album over 24 hours on my favorite station... to quote one presentor"they waited 13 years to publish this album, but they should have waited at least 13 years more!"

I got the same impression from hearing the songs... G'n'R died a long time ago...
